  • Stupid question time. Where can I get good info on PtW?

Yes I did research on it and herd it wasn't that good. I only want it for single player and don't care for the multiplayer portion of it.

What I would like to know is, is there a link so I know where I can get all my questions answered or can you guys do it for me.

    What new techs are there?
    What new units are there?
What new city improvements are there?
What new civs are there? and UU?
    Any new terrian?

I tried looking at previews and reviews but I don't see anything like my questions, everything is too generall

blah blah blah some new units, blah blah blah some new civs. But they don't give examples. How can I judge a game wich dosn't give examples.

From what I have read I am staying away from PtW untill I can get these questions answered and judge for myself. Convince me to get PtW if you can please. I don't want to here it rocks without good explanations.

I liked Civ3 but found it missing a few things and am back to Call to Power 2 right now.

    Thanks

I can't remember seeing this information here at Apolyton in just one thread or page, but at www.civfanatics.com , they do have at least a list and information on the PTW units, I don't know if they have the other too, since I rarely use the site.

There are new terrain sets, like a "snowy" one, but I haven't seen a list of this. Hope this help at least a little bit!

      The terrain sets are:

      European
      Winter
      Sn00py's (3 kinds)
      Warpstorm Watercolor

BTW, I really like PTW for single play. I've had decent success with MP, but it seems I'm the exception.

          New City Improvements:
Commercial Dock (+1 trade in sea tiles)
Civil Defense (+50% defense for units in city)

          New Wonder:
The Internet (free Research Lab in every city)

          New Terrain Enhancements:
Airfield (allows planes/paratroopers to operate away from cities)
          Outpost (increases visible distance)
Radar Tower (bonus to attack/defense for units within 2 squares)

Personally, I bought the expansion exclusively for single player, and I'm very happy with it. Never played CTP2 (or CTP for that matter) so I can't compare.

It's worth mentioning that PTW (and especially the 1.14f patch) has greatly improved the AI of both the Barbarians and Computer-controlled Civs.
The AI now behaves more like the best human players, which is a good thing IMHO.

Although none of the bonuses/penalties have been changed the AI improvements basically make the game one difficulty level harder.
If I'm posting here then Counterglow must be down.
