  • Disappearing Spaceship

I was playing as the Koreans on Regent level and by the time I finished the game I had a spaceship half built. I lost the game but I wanted to keep playing so I could see the launch of the spaceship and its arrival on Alpha Centauri. When I finished the last component of the ship nothing happened and I couldn't access the spaceship screen. So, I never launched. That was a big disappointment. Has this happened to anyone else?

    Re: Disappearing Spaceship

Yep. Once you win/lose the game, no victory options work. Including the spaceship. Nope, you can't even ask the screen.

    Disappointing.

Well, damn. I'll just have to get better at the game by playing at a lower lever so I can finish the ship by the time the game ends.

Spaceship can be done on Regent but I found it hard on lower levels because the tech research doesn't go fast enough.

The clip showing the launch is nice but only worth seeing once. If you really want to win that way the best option is to stick to Regent and turn some of the other victory conditions off. You will need to have about a dozen major cities all with factories and preferably Hoover to get the shield output.

Thanks for the tip. In the game I played, Alpha Centuari wasn't even a victory option (I don't think it was checked) but I noticed around 1970 that I could build the Apollo Project so I decided to go for it. Maybe next time.
What is the reason for tech advancing more slowly on the lower levels?
