Any Europeans that can play with patch 1.14f?

I have uploaded a NO CD for 1.14f and it works. I agree: If you buy a product and it does not work, you HAVE THE RIGHT to find your solution. Apart from that, you PAID FOR IT, so, who cares what you use? I use it only cuz I dont wanna have my CD on the drive, both cuz I like listening to music and cuz I dont wanna get it scratched by my kitten while I handle it.

Yes it does. But i think the moderators will see the difference between helping someone to get the game to work and promoting piracy.

And if you don't like it, you can always find some where else to post.

However, all cracks, unless approved by Firaxis are illegal... That's the law. It doesn't really matter how you use it, it's still illegal

I agree with Ming. I didnt know it was forbidden to post such a thing. Sorry. It wont happen again. I am sorry for all of you who didnt get the address nor the NO CD. It seems you ll have to go on fighting with Firaxis and Infogrames. Good luck in your quest. Anyway, I believe in the power of the masses and the people. Every judge will take an opinion after concidering the spirit of the law, not the letter of the law. There is no judge that will decide that an illegal action has been performed if one fixed a broken game by self-made software.

But I know that among the apolyton admins the "spirit of the law" phrase is an unknown phrase.

If there was a guarantee that the hack would only be used for legal purposes, then I might agree with you. But even in your own fantasy land, not even you can guarantee that.

It is a fact that an unauthorized hack is illegal... and that some will use it in an illegal fashion. This site doesn't want to condone or support illegal use of gaming software, so its policy on this issue is a solid one.

most people who do pirate games / install it from their friends, do know where to find these hacks anyway.

I think it's not illegal if your game doesn't work without the hack. I'm not a laywer, but I (again) doubt that it's against the law to fix something you bought broken.

now just say that a no-cd link will be tolerated as long as Firaxis didn't provide good working patch.

You may think it's silly... but by allowing such links, it leaves Apolyton open to legal action by gaming companies. It's illegal... so to not allow it is not silly
