  • Bug/Quirk starting Hotseat after the patch

I've been doing some experimenting playing hotseat by myself lately (2 civs controlled by me and six by the computer), so when I installed the new patch, I decided to start a new hotseat game. Each time, even though I tried to set it on Emperor, I could grow to size four (I think it was) without unhappiness showing up. (I didn't always let it go that long, but unhappiness never showed up with the second citizen the way it's supposed to on Emperor.) I finally decided to start a single-player game and see if the same thing would happen there. Single-player worked fine. So then I tried hotseat again and the problem went away. It looks as if there may be some initialization associated with the patch that activates in single-player mode but not in hotseat. (My apologies if this is a known issue; I don't hang out on this area much.)

really, I also met this problem today.... choose deity, but got chieftain, I follow the way u mentioned to start a single game, seems ok once time. but it got a too bad start location u know, so I quit and host again. this time... and follows... I always got "chieftain" , damn too frustrate... repeat failed and whithout any "quick start"

I believe it's a bug, wish it'll be fixed in comming patch

          nathan-

I tried starting a couple of games, but wasn't able to get the bug to show up. Obviously, it does exist, though. I guess you could tell player1. He had success getting the replay bug fixed.

The key of fixing the bugs, is to post them in important threads (or mail directly to Firxais), called something like "patch XXX Bug thread".

Saved games attachments should probably help a lot too.

As far as I understand, guy working on Civ3 patches have no times to look at all thread in this forums, so posting all needed things in one place is crucial.

            P.S.
If something is not reported (in right palce) it will never be fixed.
