The AI is so blatently cheating it's not even funny. I'm playing on the level right below diety. Every time I move units towards an enemy area, he immediatly shifts his troops in another direction. There is no way he could know where I am, but the AI always seems to know where I'm weakest (way before spying comes around, by the way). I know that the AI has to cheat to keep up, but this reduces a lot of wars to games of cat and mouse. The sad thing is that the AI is so predictable, that winning is laughabley simple for anybody with basic pattern recodnizion.

It makes the AI harder than it would be otherwise, can't really complain - but I do get annoyed when I see AI irrigation from salt/no water.
And no need to worry about the AI anymore when Firaxis fixes the multiplayer dilemmas..."Show me a man or a woman alone and I'll show you a saint. Give me two and they'll fall in love. Give me three and they'll invent the charming thing we call 'society'. Give me four and they'll build a pyramid. Give me five and they'll make one an outcast. Give me six and they'll reinvent prejudice. Give me seven and in seven years they'll reinvent warfare. Man may have been made in the image of God, but human society was made in the image of His opposite number, and is always trying to get back home." - Glen Bateman, The Stand (Stephen King)
