Victory Point Location Usage

How do these things work? All I know is that they add a certain amount of victory points to your score (if it's within your territory?).

You get 250 points fro every turn you control the location. Locations are the start point for each civ, but can be set to additional places with the editor.

Well that's good to know, thanks. I'm sure that was in the manual, but I left it in my room and I went home for the weekend.

You have to keep a military unit on the Location to get the points each turn, though. They don't have to be in a city.
