  • Improved AI in PTW

    heyo

anyone else notice the AI in PTW has been improved? There's been so much griping about multi-player (Granted, it's justified griping ) and not much talk about single player.

The AI seems to have been improved greatly. As I pointed out in another thread, other civs seem to be much more aggressive and thus will go to war more often. I've also noted it's easier to bribe other civilizations into declaring war on an enemy.

Furthermore, they keep up much better in the science race.

    Anyone else notice these things?

However, i'd like to point out that I've played nothing but regicide games since getting PTW, so perhaps the extra-aggression is just a regicide thing..

There's a thread about New stuff in PtW on the strategy thread - this is one of the things discussed.

    Soren even made an appearance.

Improved(tweaked) AI is not a secret, but they claim not to have made any "major changes," just a lot of minor tweaks.

I think it was on the strategy board. Lemme check...

    Yeah, here we go.

In short they said that they food crazy governor has been fix and will now go into production mode once it hits size 6. This has made it a bit stronger.

Has the AI stopped making size 30+ cities that are pollution factories which produce little extra science/gold than a size 20 city?

All that pollution really hurts. There was one time when I made peace after many turns and the first thing I did was get a RoP and send in my army of workers to clean pollution on my former enemy's land rather than improve the terrain of my 6 newly conquered cities.
