  • A couple of observations...

    1. The AI seems to better understand and respect borders in PTW. Anyone else notice this?

    2. The explore feature is definitely a plus.

    3. The AI's build orders seem to have also been updated with a significant decline in REX.

    4. The game code seems to have really been cleaned up! I don't get nearly as much slowdown with all 24 civs on a huge map.

    5. War is no longer a chore.

I'm curious - how much slow down are you getting and what are your system specs?

Agree with all your points. Also...

      6. The AI is much more agressive in war, and even likes to pillage stray resource tiles.

      7. Pefectionist civs aren't as expansionist as everyone else anymore.

      8. With the added civs, if you choose Random opponents and select for cultural similarity, it feels a lot more like the "old neighborhood" than before.

Pentium 4 2.0, WinXP Home, regular Civ 3 about 15 seconds per turn max, since PTW installation about 8 seconds max.

          Thanks Sultan.

I should finally be able to pick PTW up this weekend (having worked out the spousal consent issues...). I'm a SP only type player, so your positive comments are most welcome. Looking forward to 24 civs on a huge map....

Not really - everyone's penetrating my borders, and as soon as I tell them to leave, They declare war (monarch level)

Mmh - I didn't play civ3 for quite some time, so I don't exactly remember, but right now, I'm on a 256x256 worldmap with 31 civs, it's about 1200 AD and the AI moves take about 10 minutes on an athlon XP 1800+, 512 MB cl2-timed ddr-ram and winxp pro (It's allways good to have a book next to you when playing - I allways read while the AI moves )

but still, I'd agree on the last one
