  • Preferred Government Types

The guide that comes with PTW says each new Civ has a specific government that is preferred and one that is not. For example the Celts prefer Despotism and are opposed to the Republic.

Any ideas on what this means for gameplay? For the Celts will adopting another form of government make it tougher to maintain happy citizens? Are the other Civs likely to be more or less aggressive because of their preferred government types? More difficult to trade etc?

no, this has to do with the ai and how they will react towards you.

if the AI celts meet you and you are in desp. they will like you more then if you are a republic.

same goes for 'shunned' form of goverment
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?

Depostism is nice until you've got enough income for monarchy, since I usually have a huge army to keep my more bloodthirsty neighbors away during the ancient age.
