  • To GameSpy or not to GameSpy?

Considering that Firaxis plans on implementing this Direct IP thingy in their next patch, is there any reason to install Gamespy at this juncture? Fortunately, we're giving the option of installing GameSpy separately at a later date during the game's installation.

I've used GameSpy before, and their service really only seems to work efficiently for me when I disable my firewall. However, I receive at least two port scans a day, which means that disabling my firewall isn't a desirable option.

Will PtW have a list of IP games, as RtCW does, or do you have to know the IP address before hand?

I imagine you'd have to have your own IP number but that is pure speculation on my part.
