• What exactly does PtW come with?

I'm curious, can any of you who bought Play the World tell me exactly what new features come with the expansion pack? I know there are eight new civs with 8 new UUs and it shipped with a semi-functional version of MP but have any other new features been added?

Specifically I'd like to know if there are any new techs, government types, units, or wonders. I understand that several of the hot keys have now been turned into on screen buttons; do most players find this arrangement more convient and/or generally more enjoyable? How complete is the manual and how correct is what is printed in it? Lastly what is included in the box itself? Is it just the CD & manual or do we get any other goodies? Thanks for you help.

ok

you know the 8 civs

2 new units: medieval infantry and guerilla (swordsmen can upgrade now)
3 new terrain improvements: outpost, radar, airfield
3 new city improvements: commercial dock, civil defense, stock exchange
1 new wonder: the internet (research lab in each city)

new victory conditions:
victory points, capture the princess, regicide, mass regicide, elimination

new espionage screen
new scenario screen, makes switching mods a breeze, very easy to use
many mods some with new units/maps/techs included
also snoopy's and warpstorm's and a few other terrain types included. other maps as well

trade advisor screen includes current deals
new preferences menu, easier to use

can turn culture flips off at startup screen

can increase max range of airpower to 256 (or whatever)

commands:
auto bombard
auto precision bombing
group movement improved-can move same type or entire stack
can rename all units
can cycle through cities and units with a click

game improvements that I've noticed:
-can get cities from huts
-barbs are much more effective-break into groups, pillage instead -of attacking superior force
-AI seems to be a much better defender, I've had many problems trying to crack early cities even (on monarch) 4 spears per city at 500bc (i think)

I'm sure there's other stuff I'm forgetting, but this is a start.

oh yeah, the manual is slim, slightly out of date in some of the numbers.

I much prefer the new version of the game. the new menus are nice.
The best part to me is the modswapping ability-no longer a pain or worries of messing up the game.

oh yeah

in the box comes the manual, the game in a sleeve, an advertisment for civ the boardgame and an add for pentium 4.

oh yeah pt. 2

a lot of units for future scenarios: ww2, japanese, dino packs. all animated. now someone needs to make the scneario....

one scenario included has the barbs as velociraptors, which is somewhat entertaining
