  • With PtW is it possible to force a civ to start in specific city?

In normal Civ 3 (without a save game or other tricks) it was not possible to force a civ to start in a specific city. Is this possible in PtW expansion?

It was possible in civ3 if you patched to 1.29f if I understand your question correctly.

Like in "The World" map, if I went and edited it, and wanted to make "America" start in the same spot when I launch a new game, and Japan start in Japan etc.

The original would randomize where every civ started.

Yeah, 1.29 took care of that.
Dom Pedro II - 2nd and last Emperor of the Empire of Brazil (1831 - 1889).

I truly believe that America is the world's second chance. I only hope we get a third...

i dont think this was properly solved by 1.29 - since you have to use the editor to set up the start positions which time consuming.

does it now work properly, ala civ 2, where you select earth map and the starting locations are automatically generated in the correct place?

In the editor, go to each starting spot (they're already there) and right click on it, and assign it to the civ you want to have it. Then save the map. It takes five minutes and you'll never have to bother with it again.

So, play that mod. That's what I do when I want to play on a map of Earth.

So you're too lazy to go to "load scenario" and then pick that one. Then save it as civ3mod and you'll always play that scenario.
