Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God? - Epicurus

Well, I guess PTW is widely available (in the US anyway). This morning I picked up a copy at Babbages at Sarasota Square Mall in (you guessed it) Sarasota, FL.

There were many copies available and the guy working the store said it wasn't in heavy demand.

Firaxis take note: My guess is that most people check out internet reviews before buying games. I bought a copy despite what I've read here. In the future, I suggest Firaxis/Infogrames release a "Beta Version" (at the same price) with promises of patches to come. - I would have gladly paid the same price for a clearly labeled "Beta" version and not have lost respect for Mr. Meier for allowing himself to be in a position that diminishes his Deity like reputation in the gaming world.

That said: I have had SOOOO many hours of fun playing Civ I,II,III, that I forgive Sid. But, still, this release was irresponsible...

That, That, Said: If you love Civ (like a junkie loves crack) face up to the fact that you'll have to buy it sooner or later. At least you'll benefit from the single player improvements while we wait for Firaxis to get it's sh_t together...

So, here in Atlanta, I picked up my copy at Media Play yesterday, and my Dad just had to get one. He goes to Best Buy, they've never heard of it. He then proceeds to a different Media Play, they've never heard of it either. He was jealous for about an hour until he went to my Media Play to get his copy. Go figure.

Best Buys, I understand. Any place that is pc games oriented should have at least heard of it.

It's in Best Buy's advert today: $29.99, 30% off that if you buy the GOTY edition at the same time.

Being an employee at Best Buy, I can definitely tell you that Best Buy is not "pc games oriented". Best Buy would rather sell stuff with higher profit margin, such as computer accessories, CD storage equipment, and things like that

No, we don't. I ordered from Gamestop.com on Thursday, and found it in the mail today (Monday). That was quick!
They charge $ 15.99 per order, though (I ordered two copies, so I share those costs).

                        (I live in the Netherlands)

PTW is US$19.99 at CompUSA this week. And that's why my wife made me wait a week and a half before I could buy it.
