  • Email play?

I was wondering if it is known yet whether this will be a multiplayer option. If you can play over email. Sort of like how a long-distance chess game used to be done with moves sent through the mail. The people I would be playing with I know well, so the possibility of cheating is not a concern.

It will be possible to play by email.

Yes and it is called PBEM (Play By E-Mail).

There won't be an in-game mail system though

Its funny, cause since playing so much smac, I've never though of anything BUT pbem as a viable option for CIV MP.

Silly question (it's probably been asked before. Lazy Lung couldn't be bothered checking the entire forum), but will there be any security features on PBEM so you can't see other players' turns? A simple password for each player would suffice!

Call to Power has no such feature, so you just have to trust your opponent not to look at your turns

                  IIRC, there is password protection

I never played multiplayer for these strategy games before. How should PBEM work? Will I see still my opponents' moves just like in single-player or will I just have to remember what he had before and compare with what it looks like now to figure out the difference?

The real security question is: will there be 1024bit encryption on the files?
