    Hey everyonnnnneee...
A new expansion means less ressources for Civ IV or other projects! Just look at Rogue Spear that got something like 5 expansions, and nothing new for many many years!! Borrring!!
Go GalCiv, go! Go Society, go!

Yeah, I don't expect marc420 to respond to the responses thread. Why do they flame and never return, it really undercuts their argument when they don't respond and back up their argument. Or worse, like some notorious posters, flame then ignore the responses, then move to a different thread, never answering the responses. Sigh.

I don't see how the expansions would harm Civ4. If anything, it probably helps it out. More sales now means that the company will be financially stronger and that Infogrames will support the next game more fully-devote more resources to.

Its taken 4-5 years to get each new game out, I would rather reach the potential of each game before moving to the next.

All I ask for is SMAC style UN, politics and diplomacy, is that too much to ask for? huh?

I'm with asleepathewheel (uhh, such a long name; can I call you sleepy? ) on this one. We won't see a civ4 in the next 4 years, so why not concentrate on making a "perfect" (I know there's no such thing) civ3 ?

This XP is especially about MP. To sell the next one, they must find a lot of appealling new features.

I'd like to see (and I expect) some of these:

            - improved diplomacy and trade system(especially a useful UN)
            - more interesting modern era
            - some "cool" new features (like peaceful great leaders)
            - new wonders and/or buildings and/or units
            - improved scenario and customization capabilities and tons of scenarios and maps
            - other things from the "wish list"
            - 8 new civs (maybe even new civ traits)
"The only way to avoid being miserable is not to have enough leisure to wonder whether you are happy or not. "

A fast word about oral contraception. I asked a girl to go to bed with me and she said "no".

I think that they should only do two expansion packs, if they even decide for another. In it, I should like to see...

              ~ Improved Diplomacy and UN
~ The Eiffle Tower Great Wonder (perhaps even two modern minor or great wonders...The Chunnel and City on the Sea)
~ More Units for each era
              ~ Better World Maps
              ~ Scenarios
              ~ More terrain features
              ~ 6 more civs...
              The Dutch, William of Orange
              The Ethiopians, Zawditu
              The Polynesians...
              The Israelites, David
              The Portuguese, Don Juan II
              The Inca, Atahualpa
              Empire growing,
              Pleasures flowing,
Fortune smiles and so should you.

For my part, I'd just LOVE to see in expansion with an Editor capable of letting you add/edit:

                1) Terrain improvements.
                2) Diplomacy options and diplomatic stances.
                3) Events (mostly so I can add Dark Ages and Civil Wars-Hint, Hint )

If they did that, then I would be truly content .

                Yours,

I hope that the next xp includes either a fantasy mod or a sci fi/futuristic mod. I liked that about ToT, I could play 3 almost completely different games. That would allow for more creativity on the civ trait front. I don't care if there are more historical civs, I think 24 is plenty. :P

The next xp should include a graft of SMAC onto the civ3 world: just take all the techs from SMAC and add two or three new ages in civ3. While they're doing that take all the rest from SMAC (governments, UN, units, nervegas) and put it in cvi3. Then just play civ3 straight onto SMAC.

But aahz, the world was destroyed by a nuclear holocaust near the start of SMAC as wasn't rebuilt until I sent my incarnation back to restore it.

Well, with the tech in SMAC I'm sure there's a way to make it all good.... Transplaner dimetric wave opticobioquantum synthohol should do the trick.

Sure, some of them actually add something other than objects but most of them are just...junk. But what annoys me most is PEOPLE ACTUALLY BUY THEM ALL. I know people who have bought *ALL* of them plus the Special Offer (The Sims + Livin Large Expansion for only 30 dollars) because the Special Offer has a "Make-A-Sim" creator or something to that nature? Ugh. I sometimes have to sit back and wonder "How stupid can someone get..."
Thats ur point of view. Some people like the XP just fine the way it is. Even if total adds up to 300+ dollars. And for special ed, some people just like collecting. I bought my Evangelion DVD series even though I had all the VHS... It wasn't a matter of getting new things at that point but just to collect and have...

Unless Firaxis releases an expansion that has more 'bang for the buck', I'm not buying it. And I really dont see why other people are as well. But hey, thats just my opinion.
True, though I dont usually buy my games so getting burned out of my cash once or twice doesnt really add up to a net loss IMO.... (and I personally thinhk PtW is alright so..)
                                :-p
