Or at least lowered the standard prices for the ones that are there. Yes, I know all about the editor and what it can and can't do. I just want games where spying is a major strategy in MP. Non-standard games are less likely to be played.Seemingly Benign

are you talking about the expansion? becuase didn't the origanal game come out after 9/11 to begin with? so that must mean either they planned it for Civ3, had planed to put it in an expansion a few months before Civ3 was even released, or someone was kidding\ lying.

These are things then, that were going to be in civ3ptw?
i know i can't poison water. i didn't know that my spys could learn. i'll just check if my good spys are cheaper... (that would be good).
i would really like to see more spy options, too.
i've allready ordered the game - can't wait to play it online with others. eventhough i don't have broadband.

It might not be Political Correctness. It might be that Firaxis is located within 50 miles of one of the 9/11 terrorist sites and didn't like the idea anymore.Seemingly Benign

well, let me put in this way: point 1 and 2 should justify keeping the spy attack options into the game, point 3 mean that someone decided to ignore that terrorist attack killed thousand people everywhere in the world since many years, and we shouldn't forget millions of soldiers and civilians killed during wars (but fighting wars are at the hearth of Civ III, aren't it?).
Let me clarify this again: I respect the thousand of people died during the 9/11, as many others victims of others horror around the world.
I simply note that Civ II spy attack were not so similar to a suicide terroristic attack to offend common taste. It simply seems to me a bad case of unneeded Political Correctness.
But I live many more miles far from New York, so maybe I'm dead wrong."We are reducing all the complexity of billions of people over 6000 years into a Civ box. Let me say: That's not only a PkZip effort....it's a real 'picture to Jpeg heavy loss in translation' kind of thing."

It is an understandable attitude if you are an American. They (Firaxis) are a very short drive (less than an hour if traffic cooperated) from the Pentagon which was also attacked. I don't want to divert this thread, but most Americans were and are still shocked and angered by this event.Seemingly Benign

Urgh this is wat I hate exactly, Ya kno a WTC scene was cut out from spiderman, it was supposed to be web between WTC and helicopter gets caught or something like that, why do we have to sacrifice completeness for games movies etc, just when idea of WTC or terrorism is involved? Why does westwood have to pull out there red alert box art just because missle is destroying WTC? And who cares if they EVEN made the box art AFTER WTC? GOsh people sometimes makes me SOO mad. I could have had terroism feature in Civ III and be enjoying it but no~ UGGGHH:-p
