It is obviously getting better compared to what we have now.

Did you notice the "spy experience" thing under Assets? Did we have this before or is it a new concept? The more experienced the spy, the better chaces it has to succed, I presume. I'd like to know more about this.

Other than that, what I'd like very much to have is a screen where I could see all my current trade deals, maybe even past deals (especially broken ones!).

It's been there all along. As your spies actually succeed at missions and don't get caught they get better odds. Commy spies have an experience bonus.

I didn't know that. Is there a screen where I can see my spy's experience or is it one of those hidden parameters the game keeps track in the background?

It's hidden. I discovered this when I was diving into the editor a few months back.

Surely it's an enhancement over Civ III menu mess

That is definately something that I miss from civ2. A screen where I can see in a centralized way important informations about a civ: form of government, what are they researching, what kind of techs do they desire, luxuries/resources they desire, what are they trading with who, relations with other civs (not just war/peace, but also attitude: gracious ... angry), finance (x gold in treasury) and so on.

Cool. I'd really like to see some more options. But the screen looks good.
