  • inconsistent civilization naming!

When I was looking at the PtW screen shots, I noticed that adjectives are being used for the new civs instead of the country names that are mostly used for the present civs. Example: Arabs instead of Arabia, Spanish instead of Spain. I wonder why that is, since Rome, Germany, England, France, etc. are all in the game.

These are probably fixed in the final version IMO.

Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God? - Epicurus

Let's hope so. Those gus at Firaxis MUST have noticed it themselves... Not a really big deal though.

Thread closed! (Not really, but as far as I am concerned)

Aaaah! Who cares about names when we need a proper scenario editor!!!
"Show me a man or a woman alone and I'll show you a saint. Give me two and they'll fall in love. Give me three and they'll invent the charming thing we call 'society'. Give me four and they'll build a pyramid. Give me five and they'll make one an outcast. Give me six and they'll reinvent prejudice. Give me seven and in seven years they'll reinvent warfare. Man may have been made in the image of God, but human society was made in the image of His opposite number, and is always trying to get back home." - Glen Bateman, The Stand (Stephen King)

That assumes they leave in the ability to change Civ names. With firaxis you never know. I would like to see a return to the 'self-contained' scenario system from Civ II. All this file swapping is gonna lead to tears.

Oh what, so he can't say something that he finds could make the game better?

His concerns are just as important

Yes, the names disturb me too...

Yeah, that's bothered me as well. Hopefully it will be changed.

Iroquois and Aztecs don't settle well with me, either. I would much prefer "Iroquois League" and "the Aztec Empire" to be the official default names.

Spain, Korea, Carthage, Arabia, the Ottoman Empire, Celtic Kingdoms, Golden Horde, and the like would suit me fine.
