  • Units depending on some improvements

Units building may depend on the ressources and of course knowledge you have. Why not add improvements as well.

Example Ship in shipyards, tanks in factory, or for scenarii for other special buildings.
ie I am working on a Reconquista mod where I would like Knights of religious orders to be built only in the Military Orders strongholds. They would be allowed to a special civilization but the prohibitive cost of the improvement would make it impossible to create these units in other places.

I hope that prerequisite improvements are included for units for modders in PtW as well.

      yes, they'd be quite interesting.

i could see myself building more cathedrals if they let me get a Crusader or something

A good idea! You should need a Nuclear Plant to build nukes.

Actually, according to the big Patch Chat they had on Friday the 19th, improvements as prerequisites for units is quite high on Mike's wish-list for the PtW editor, along with Events!! So, let's all keep our fingers crossed!!!

I don't quite agree on this one. Nuclear plants have about as much to do with nukes as Hoover dam has to do with submarines. A Mfg. plant would, on the other hand, be a more realistic requirement for nukes.

This should be usful in my WW2 mod, bomb the hell out of'em till they no longer have factorys or subpens and cant build anything anymore!
And that events thing will be usful too, forcing Germany to break out into war with the units they have instead of sitting around peacfully building a massive world eatter army!
                      Help negate the vegiterian movement!

I believe that the allies, with their great industries, would have won a prolonged arms race. Germany's advantage came from taking the initiative.

However, that's another story. Back to topic!

                          actually, this is incorect.
nuclear plants originally were built to transform uranium to plutonium(the main ingrediant for nukes).
electricity is just a side effect...

The hot air from the tranformation is pumped through a pipe that goes through a tank of water, the high presure of the water drives a turbine that converts movment into electricity.

So its not really a side effect, its more of a result of a side effect being used very well!
