So... at least six of you would be willing to buy a tin with nothing more than a paper napkin with "Firaxis" printed on it?

Money is an object. It is just that there is a lot of crap out there right now. Even with its flaws, Civ3 looks pretty ok in comparison.

i'd buy the LE PTW if it came in another tin.. i got the LE when it came out and i was quite happy with it. all i wanted was the tin and game, i could care less for all the other stuff that was or was not in the first tin.

i'd vote in the poll but i dont like any of the options.
I spend most my money on Wine, Women and Song.. the rest i just waste.

Ahh, come and admite it. You want to buy Sid's underpants.

no. unless it didn't cost more than the standard edition, (which it of course wouldn't)

                    LOL.

I misread your second sentence for a sec. THought you were watering your pants. That and your obsession with Sid's underpants had me wondering for a sec.

Now that thats all water under the belt line, I object to this poll having no banana option.

You knew someone would post about this sooner or later

I need nothing more than the game, a simple c-board box to display on my bookshelf (more boxes on that than there are books), and a big, fat manual.

Therefore, I'm not paying any extra to have a tin box, or any other junk outside the bounds of being necessary part of the game. I mean no tech-tree posters, no Firaxis notepads, no "Developer Diaries", no "Making-of" CDs or Videos.

Regular edition for me thank you. As I said, all I need is the game, manual and simple cardboard box.

                        I throw the boxes away.

All I need is a manual, a jewel case for the CD (not those stupid envelopes you get sometimes), and maybe a trinket, if no trinket, no big deal.

Have you guys also noticed how much wasted space is in those boxes? It's like 50% air. These companies seem to think that the bigger their box is the more people will pay for it.

I have seen some Game boxes shrink down to a 5in 1/4 X 1in 1/4 X 7in 1/2 (13.34cm X 3.18cm X 19.1cm) Messurements. I dont think that the game companies think that bigger is better. Some companies are possibly reducing there paper usage on making boxies.
