i found this text file named "play the world.txt" in "Text" folder of civ3

here what it contain:

Seems like they knew from the beginning, what the expansion should be called I guess they didn't include that file in a patch...but I could be wrong...

i think that there all multi player service(dedicated server offering league,scoring,game of the week/day and all kinda of goodies) was named "play the world"...like blizzard service "battle net"
so the name was thrown to the expansion pack....which ,as i see it, is the promised multiplay game of civ3 + extra civs units etc...

Right, the file was there. Clearly they thought of putting MP in Civ 3, but didn't.

Game of the Week is now clear with the matchmaking service.
