Siredgar :
I didn't vote because I think the Hwacha and the Kobukson are equally good : both are more original than yet anoter land-unit UU.
I know what a Kobukson is, I've seen Yin26's thread on Korea, and I played AOKxp. But frankly, even if I know what it is, it's not a super duper unit which makes the others completely ireelevant. It's a valid choice, as the Hwacha is, nothing more - nothing less.
I couldn't agree more with NYE : you seem to see disagreement with you as a character flaw.
Don't forget : Firaxis tries to sell XP to the most possible people, meaning they try to please the majority. It's normal, then, if many of us are pleased with their choices."I have been reading up on the universe and have come to the conclusion that the universe is a good thing." -- Dissident

Please tell me exactly what I said that I should be equally given a warning or whatnot. I am very curious to know if you think that generally calling people "worker ants" is comparable to specifically calling out someone as a "twit"."I've spent more time posting than playing."

It seems from the e3 vid that the Hwacha going to be the UU, since it was put with two other UUs, although it still could be part of the Feudal Japan unit pack.Know your enemies!

I only chose the firecart because it seemed like the most modern, and there doesn't seem to be an abondance of modern UUs. If there was, I would have chosen the turtleboat, simply for the lack of aquatic UUs.I AM.CHRISTIAN

Siredgar: We've all seen them before. And yes, they're cool looking. Should they be the UU of Korea? No.
As i've said in other various UU threads, Turtle Ships were used by Admiral Yi Shun Shi's fleet only. As soon as he died, so did all the Turtle Ships korea had. I don't consider it the best choice for their UU unit.
Aside from that, Naval units are really a waste, since most of the time your enemy is going to be continent based. Look at Britain. And it would really be doing a disservice to the Turtle ship anyway, since the spikes and iron coating would really have no real purpose in the Civ 3 engine: It would just be able to bombard.
I think the best choice for the Korean UU would be a Korean Skirmisher or Spearman from the Mongol occupation times. They were the mainstay of the Khan's armies. The two real political parties in America are the Winners and the Losers. The people don't acknowledge this. Anyhow, I disagree about the Skirmisher or Spearman unit because they are not distinctly Korean and they do not come at the height of the Korean civilization. Generally, the UU's seem to appear either at the height of or a momentous moment of a civilization. As I have stated before, the Kobukson was unique in that it was the world's first ironclad warship and only used by the Koreans. It is quite majestic-looking, too.
Regardless, does anyone know where it was stated that this unit is called the "Hwacha"? I don't recall this anywhere. If it is indeed called that, then the Koreans are definitely in the expansion pack. But if this is something that someone just called that unit in the picture, then it is less likely."I've spent more time posting than playing."

Both, as in AoK:TC. They added Capture the Flag, and Regicide, they're obviously taking the AoK route, why not add two UUs, one land, one sea.Concrete, Abstract, or Squoingy?

Yea, and AOK is also very unbalanced in favor of the Koreans. In imperial age, Koreans are unstoppable. Not that it matters, since Korea usually dies in Feudal Age.
if civ were to do it, they'd have to do 2 UU for every civ, which is a lot o work and really not neccessary.
Siredgar: Well...okay. A turtle ship IS a good choice, my primary reason for not wanting it in, is because I don't WANT civ to have anything in common with AOK. *is 100% opposed to re-hash*The two real political parties in America are the Winners and the Losers.
