I don't think they'll forget hotseat, and above all PBEM. Firaxians are not stupid and lurk on the fora. They know PBEM is one of the favorites (if not the very favorite) way to play MP. I suppose "turnless mode" is one of the several ways to play MP, the others being classic.

It sounds like turnless movement could go like it does in Europa Universalis. That would be cool. Especially if you could play a normal game like that. But still, PBEM shall probably be my fav, since I usually don't have time to spend even a complete hour to play a game.
And if the scenario editor comes out properly... well, time will tell. Hey, that should be a name for a future expansion pack! CIv3:TwT look for it in a department store near you!

So how many expansions are we expecting on Civ3. I think this'll be the last for the time being. They'll give us a scenario editor, and try to sell our scenarios on the next expansion.

I would think at least two. this one and a sci fi/fantasy other scenarios xp, with more odd civs.

from the CivIII main page:
On "Turnless" multiplayer mode: Stay tuned. If you want to get a general idea of the feature, check out fallout tactics. There are a number of significant differences, but that`s in the ballpark.
