    Up from the ashes...

I'm starting a thread here to help the game get running smoothly. I received the password from JShelR and the save from Roger. Turn 1000BC was forwarded to Enamel.

So, it looks like a Regicide game on a Pangea. Can someone fill in the blanks (difficulty, barbs, size, etc...)?

Is there a general agreement about exploits and cheats? I'll hope noone would use road-to worker or mobilization bugs, but what about stuff like whip-switch-whip?

I'm in the US Central TZ (GMT-6). I should be available at least once a day for the near future.

      975 on to Egypt.

Another question- is there a limit to in-game communication? One email per turn or anything?

        Here are the games settings.
Kidthings (RIP) set the turn thread in CGN, but advertised for players in Apolyton, so I am happy to use this thread instead.

I am pretty sure the difficulty bug has ensured we are playing at cheiften level, and not emporer. The AI are incrediably weak.

No exploits or cheats allowed. And in fact I dont even know any of the ones you mentioned anyway.

We are averaging 1 turn/day, so no problems there.

Communicate as much as you want, however you want.

        Enjoy

I was asking about the exploits because I don't know of any explicit agreement on what is or isn't one.

The whip-switch-whip is a way to work around the limit on population rushes. Normally only half the population can be used to hurry projects in a despotic or communist gov, but if you rush something small, then switch to a larger project and pop-rush again, you can bypass the limit.

OTOH, what about switching the science slider on the last turn before a discovery to milk a few extra gold pieces? My feeling is that the former is an exploit and the latter "micro-management" but it can be a fine line, especially considering the PBEM code is still so buggy.

Um, does Roger have access to this thread?

            Sent to Greece,

The first is an exploit. The 2nd is perfectly fine.

I will tell Greece this thread exists again.

              Official Iroquois Statement:

              Fellow Human Beings,

I, Chief Leinenkugel, formerly of the Chippewa, now speak for the Iroquois. The Great Chief Hiawatha has taken a 'permanent vision quest'. He has gone into seclusion leaving little more than the sacred password. We intend to fully maintain our duty as guardians of The Land.

Any special agreements must be reborn among my council.

May the peace that lies between us last unto our children's children, or 20 turns, whichever is greater.
