I have to tell you that I'll probably have not the time to play in these games. So, count me out.

Nice to see you here!
I didn't know you had purchased Civ3
Only you will be limited to games (a) and (c) as game (b) is full. I hope this is not a problem to youLet me explain something to you..... I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me. If there's any room yet, I'm in.
I like game a), then c), and am currently in one other civ3 PBEM.
I play SP at Emperor for a challenge.
About accel. prod, if we're planning to take a couple years for a game, wouldn't plowing through a month of limited action be worth it later?
Starting online would be best if there were a group with fast enough connections, but I didn't think the game format could be changed from IP to PBEM. Does this work?

Welcome aboard Rommel2D
I agree with you about accel. prod. though the limited action period would be more probably.
Some guys, including me have poor connections so online would probably be forbidden and I think changing to PBEM actually works but I have no information whether that could generate any problem.

Hi there, if there is still space in game A then I would like to play.
With regards to the starting online/slow connections dilemma would the solution be to organize a time when all the players can be online and then playing the pbem turns. The only problem with this that I can see is if a player plays civ on a different computer than the one they get their e-mail on. With this slow connections would not be a problem as we would only be sending and receiving e-mails.Safer worlds through superior firepower

I think there is some space for you too Snotty but I am not sure if it is game (a) or (c) or both.
Your idea sounds good so if I don't come up with a mod we could use it despite it is not a fast way either.
Welcome aboard

Playing turn-based MP would be much faster than coordinating email as there is no need to retrieve and open files and production can be queued between turns. Connection speed should make little difference, as long as the connection can be maintained. Has anyone tried MP online with a, what are we talking about here, 56K? I checked Firaxis and Gamespy but couldn't find any information on connection speed.
The other problem would be firewalls or security programs that block the use of necessary ports, unless a direct IP connection bypasses these.
Does everyone have a US version? If not, would we be playing 1.14f or waiting for 1.21 to be universalized?Enjoy Slurm - it's highly addictive!

Keygen, have you had a chance to work on a mod?
Re: online fast start- the PtW readme mentions not hosting with a modem, so presumably there wouldn't be problem with slow connections as long as someone with a good broadband connection can host. Does anyone know for sure their connection won't work, or aren't intested in trying to set it up?Enjoy Slurm - it's highly addictive!

Rommel2D, no I had no time for the mod.
Things are pretty hard here and a mod takes much time.
I would agree on the online thing and we could perhaps give it a try in game 1) or 3).
Nuke, sure I'll let you all know about it.
