I went back and checked the email address from the original thread. The one I put into my address book is right. The emails haven't been bounced back.

You cant communicate about the game until you've met. So no strategy or tech planning etc. Once you have contact in the game you're completely free free to work together but no trading techs to other civs (teams).

You can trade/give techs to your team member but not to the other four players.
