Let me chime in here. Other games are obviously full of cheating:

1. People are messaging everyone almost immediately.
2 They are sending pictures of terrain well before map making
3. When a well known map is being used, they go to the editor and look at the details
4. I'm sure that they are trying out attacks and then doing the turn over when they don't work. This really spoils the game for everyone.

The reason I like this group is that I trust that such crap is not going on. This is not to say that human diplomacy should not be explored fully. Just use the golden rule to guide your behavior as you conspire to reduce your neighbor to rubble.

Number 4 is jshelr's list is especially not cool. The other ones are a matter of personal preference, and it seems the majority of players in this game do not prefer allowing those behaviours. So be it.

Sent. Well I've certainly been playing by the rules we signed up for. I didn't check that we were on emperor on turn 1 because it would have revealed 3 more squares.

Nor Me, (or DaveMcW) please don't take it personally. There is absolutely no harm done in this game. It is, after all, a learning experience for all of us. That of game 1 was certainly not a model thread tracker for us to follow.

My comment was partly aimed at everyone, so I thought it fit here. I guess the wording gave too much away though.

It's easy to see Nor Me's reply is a joke also. But I'm glad everone understands the ground rules now.
