Will there be other rules as well? For example, do you have to declare war formally (in email) or you just move up to the nearest unit/city and attack?

And how do we keep track of reputation (e.g. breaking treaties, especially RoP)?

How many treaties are you planning to break?
We need seperate human-only games for MP/PBEM that dont include the over-simplifications required to have a good AI

Our own memory. The reputation index in SP games is there only for the AI.
After all, we all follow the developments in the game and i'm sure you'll be more suspicious about players who broke treaties, which is the whole point of reputation.

You cant enforce it, but you wont need to. Such negotiations will serve no purpose.

          Btw, why random civs?
If we turn civ specific abilities off then it's ok, but if they're on I think we should all choose the civilizations we play with.

I wanted random civs because I think it adds more variety to the game with not knowing what civ you will be. As for the negotiations, I just didn't want alliances forming before the civs met.

This is my first PBEM so it will be a learning experience for me. Will send the first turn in a few hours.

Ok. The first turn has been sent to SpencerH. Here are the civs:

              1- Sirosis - Ottomans
              2- SpencerH - English
              3- Brizey - Babylonians
              4- delmar - Mongols
              5- Eli - Greeks

I guess I should have been more precise: how will you know about it if someone else breaks a treaty with a third party? Maybe even before you meet one or maybe both of them?

Or for that matter how will you know who started a war (if it's not against you)?

I am thinking that we should have a thread where such events could be posted. I assume everyone has the guts to tell the truth if he breaks a treaty, and we won't end up in a situation where both parties say that the other one started the shooting...

Well, if there is a war with me it is obvious who precipitated it. The other guy! I'm peace lovin!

I received no email. Are you sure you sent to the correct adress? Maybe you forgot to remove the underscore.

I removed the underscore and I also didn't receive an error notification saying the email couldn't be delivered. However, you are not the first who says that doesn't receive my email. So, I'll try to post the save to this thread.

                              Edit: attachment deleted.
