      Questions:

      How fast do turns go?

How long will a game take? hours? Days? Weeks?

I'm intrigued by PBEM just not sure how huge of a commitment it is. It's got to be faster than the online-version (hehe).

        Answers:

Depends how fast you play and how many players... I would expect a committed team of players to play 1, maybe 2 turns per day. Possibly more if they are in the same timezone and early in the game.

Game will probably last the best part of a year at least.

Its not such a huge commitment. Will probably take 5 mins a day to play, not counting discussions with other players.

Anybody who wants a slightly more organized sign-up utility, I banged out a simple PHP script to handle game signup. It's not quite done yet, but you can create games and sign up for them.

When it's finished (hopefully soon), it will handle uploading saved games and taking turns, too.

I like this work. Simple and efficient.
If it manages to store saved pbem games will be a great toll to use.

I think this section should have some thing like that, so we can have the threads to discuss he game itself AND a place to manage the game properly.

I've played a ton of Warlords 3 and AoW PBEM over the years and I've learned that no matter how committed people are on the day they join up, some will disappear over time.

The most successful games I've had were with smaller groups, like 3-5 players, in games that lasted a few weeks to a couple months. We usually try for 1 turn per day but end up with about 4-5 turns per week and that's a pretty good pace. Sometimes we'd go a few days without seeing the game but hey, people have lives.

Anyway, just a thought. I'm still interested in getting into one of these PBEM's, though!

We might get more than one going from this group.

I'd be interested in joining a game. I may have to be walked through the mechanics at the beginning.

                    Okay, I'm installing PTW.

How do we do this PBEM thing?

Oops, sorry, wrong log-in... that was me.

PTW is officially installed. What now?

Sounds like this game filling up. I'm in as well if there is room.

I'm interested too, although I'm sure the 4 human-player limit has been reached...Maybe we could set up two games?
