Gents,
I've carried out a reconciliation of my situation in this game and it stands as follows:
I am a considerable distance behind in techs.
I have very few improvements - 4 in total in all my cities.
No irrigation.
Largest city city is 5, 1 size 4 and the rest 3 or less.
A relocated capital in a very poor position.
A handfull of troops at the most.
I certainly don't stand a chance if this game were to continue.

I thought that if one of you could beat the other then with all that extra land you may have eventually caught me up, but this is no longer possible as Paddy committed hari-kari (the reason for which still escapes me) after dismissing India from the southern continent. This act of destroying his own core effectively sealed my eventual victory.
I now have nearly 3 times as many cities as both of you, several size 12. My primary core is completely built up with city improvements, including markets, and are now producing horses, workers, or wealth. I have my FP completed, not to mention the Hero Epic. I have pre-builds that will ensure I get the Chapel and the Cathedral. I already have the Workshop and all other remaining wonders except the Lighthouse. I've started on the AoW simply because there was nothing else for me to build. I have just completed Gunpowder. My army is massive compared to both of you. I'm not bragging or anything, just trying to show how that the outcome of this game is pretty much decided.
It is no longer any fun for me to continue a decided game.

Yes it is finished, and this will be my last post on the issue.
Sorry for my whinging but I'm still baffled by all this, and disappointed because I was really enjoying this game.
Paddy I think you're a top bloke. I enjoy your sense of humor and admire how you create a bond between players and a real sense of solidarity. It is easy to see why you are so popular in these forums. But I simply don’t understand where you are coming from in all this. I’m not giving you sh!t about a bad decision if that’s what it was, I’m not that sort of person. But clearly you’re an intelligent bloke, so to raise half your primary core looks more to be an act of chucking in the towel than a mistake. You haven’t explained why you did it, you have only told me to calm down when I expressed my disappointment and then you offered to quit all our games.
I’m at the point now where I’m happy to remain baffled and would rather just forget all this and carry on with our other games hoping that they will go a bit better. I enjoy the company of this group, and are enjoying our other games. I wouldn’t want our dynamic to suffer. The next game we start should be called “Easygoing? Probably not!”

Then again, my Chinese swamp kingdom probably didn't have the production potential needed...and the lack of iron probably didn't help...Haven't been here for ages....

Guys - Including Shogun who appears to be a thread lurker intent on seeing the destruction of the Persians
I'm all for enjoying the games and have been enjoying the ones with you lot. so.........................
I think this game has actually reached a satisfactory conclusion. Paddy took a risk to wipe out me which backfired (fair enough it was a risk after all). It didn't work and unfortunately handed the game to AD. So be it, that was the way the game panned out
I'm quite keen to start another game with you lot and I've been reading the forums and AD is involved in an interesting game - the 5 continents of Eden, would anybody else be interested in starting another game along these lines?

The Eden game rocks!
Five of us started on five roughly equal continents in terms of land and resources. The minimum separation between a continent was 3 ocean tiles. We gave ourselves 3 traits (so as to get rid of the overpowered Ag trait), chose our UU and went for it.
Here is the thread.
We could do something like this but with 4 bigger continents? We would need someone independent to set it up (could get them to set up another Shogun game at the same time).
Conqueror set up the Eden game for us, but he doesn't come to poly much so it might be better to get someone else to do it.
Are we keen for this? I am.
If so does anyone know someone who could set the game up?
