speaking of civ4:
alex, are you in the beta testing team? can you give me your impressions?

from the first screenshots i have seen, i looks a bit too much like an RTS game, which would not be to my taste. but of course much can change...

I agree about the Civ4 graphics. Hopefully, the graphics in the screenshots that have been released will be improved. Graphics were never the strong point of Civ anyway.

that's not what i meant. i don't need fancy animations and so on for a game like civ. but if the game looks like RTS, it's not civ anymore

I just think that no matter how the game looks, it's the game play that defines what is and what isn't civ.

I look at Civ graphics as the window dressing that draws in a larger pool of players, making for a thriving MP environment...
