        • Oh honourable Spaniard Masuro......you have clearly shown us your power and responded to my challenge like all heroic leaders would.

Let us now end this meaningless farce, lay down our arms and allow our citizens the dignity of resuming their war-torn lives in peace, in mourning of the many husbands and sons whose torn and broken bodies already lay rotting in the fields.

Let us end the useless bloodshed and together build a new Europe in the knowledge that war has no winner, that all civilisations in the end suffer the inexorable defeat of war, no matter how powerful they may seem.

I beseech you good sir, send your troops back to their families, and do not engage in this final and terrible battle that will destroy both Venice and the very souls of your own men and my countrymen.

Let peace reign in Europe for the first time in many years.

And let Lord Masuro the Benevolent be known as the strong and courageous leader of Europe who brought this to be

Nov 1813, the month of saviour, on to ricketyclik

          • I am interested in peace if both you and Lord Paddy of the Prussians sign a peace deal with me and the British. And, of course, if my ally agrees to peace with you and Prussia.

Well of course it does, silly Spaniard There was never any doubt that it would. Nor was there ever any chance of peace.

But nice try.....and errr, thanks for the 36 Grand Batteries. They look rather nice in our Russian armories being refitted

Looks like those remaining troops of yours in Italy are......hmmm......cut off from your homeland? They shall all die horrible deaths. Muahahaha

Jan 1814 on to the British crown in Italy

....and so you attacked anyway? How very duplicitous of you

By the way......surely before you attacked you bombarded Venice with those 36 Grand Batteries? I didn't see much evidence of damage when I arrived to inspect the garrison

                            • Almost all the artillery damaged units but I didn't have much luck with the cavalry and the infantry were useless to attack with. I think all three of your armies were down to the red line.

And you took another British city so I didn't feel bad about attacking Venice.

Yep, and were all back to full health by the time my turn came around Added to the 4th Army that meanwhile arrived in Venice, and the 4 Armies had a combined total of 16 individual attacks against your depleted forces. We didn't lose a single unit
