Iatekwah was the chief of the Mohawks and the real chief of the Five Nations. Few knew this and fewer cared, Iatekwah included. His power may not have been absolute, but he could easily have done anything he wished. However, exiled as he was in this inferno, there was very little that he cared to do. One day while being fanned by two of his favorite concubines, and being unable to muster the strength even to enjoy their presence, Iatekwah began to think of what he would do with real power.
