      I dunno

diplomacy is what I enjoy in PBEM's.

Not doing it is going to be like, well why dont I play an SP game instead, especially when Beta is playing

Because the AI sucks? This thread should get real interesting once we all meet...

            Good movement today.

Well so does Beta, so whats your point?

How will it get interesting? If everything is out in the open, how is that interesting?

I'd expect it to be like Balderdash, except instead of baseless insults, we'll be bidding on each other's loyalties.

Then again, since you're such an honorable person , all this out-in-the-open discussion will just be old hat. For the rest of us backstabbers, it should be a novel experience.

There is a difference between back stabbing and keeping your deals close until the right time.

Im just not crazy about not doing diplomacy.

Might as well make it only what you can do with the diplo screen.......

Could I get an yea or nea from everyone on the Iron Civer etiquette, along with the obligatory argument from con? ;-)

                      Actually, the IC etiquette reads:
Players shall not rename units or cities to disguise the content of unit stacks or diplomatic offers.
As this point stands, you can rename cities or units so long as you are not trying to conceal their true identity.

No to the entire etiquette/exploit list or just the 1-2 options? Would you mind if snoopy and I use the exploits as a checklist of tactics against you in our alliance?

^^ Dang it Rommel! You're not supposed to say that until after the fact ...

I vote for Over the Table diplo only. I have about 30 other games with under the table diplo, and that's fun (to a point) ... but it might be interesting with it all being above-board.

It's not NO diplo. It's no SECRET diplo. See it as "Everyone has (good) spies in everyone's office". Conduct your diplomacy as normal -- but in this thread.

Could be a fun twist -- sort of like how the Silent PBEMs are fun (to play one or two of). I'd not play ALL of my games this way, but one game would be fun.

And it was part of the point of this game, wasn't it?
<Reverend> IRC is just multiplayer notepad.
I like your SNOOPY POSTER! - While you Wait quote.

I think we should also make a rule that we can't rename cities for purposes of diplo communication then.
