Well, as depressing as opening the save is for me right now, I remember that whatever happens or does not over the next few turns, your chances against three opponents for the rest of the game don't look too bright.

You are right on 2 counts....my chances against 3 opponents are less than great, and my GA won't last forever.

However, I have not made 3 enemies. You organised an alliance against me, and attacked me, because I was too strong for your liking. That's about it in a nutshell. There was plenty of land - you know that. You just need to clear the jungles, and with Industrious Workers that shouldn't be too much of a problem for the Maya.

The Greeks attacked me - not the other way round....so I can' hardly be seen to have made them an enemy. And the Celts readily admit that I have neither caused them harm, nor insulted them in any way.

No, oh great Mayan diplomat, I have not intentionally gone about making enemies. Neighbouring civs have developed into enemies for their own reasons. I'm not complaining about that - just get your facts straight

Odd that you seem to think that I lead an alliance against you, when the Greeks declared war first, and there were skirmishes with the Celts long before I was concerned that you'd taken too much land near to my core. If that propaganda helps convince your people to fight then I am sure it works - sadly it does not wash in reality, where I declared war only because my reticence to attack a neighbour could no longer balance the sheer weight of actions that you were developing into an agressor in every sense.

You are correct here, but I imagine there is plenty of land across the other side of the world too, and it would be just as corrupt and useless to me. The issue is not the amount of land, but the placement. You deliberately pushed your borders into and through my own, reducing my core and productive land. I did not.

More importantly, where do we go from here? Are you intent on both of us using our entire GA merely for a military build-up and battle while other nations grow strong? Are you intent on removing the Iroquois from the face of the earth? Or is there some position of compromise we can reach?

The largest "Mountain" in Oz? A couple of years ago some Kiwi (and a Queenslander) friends of mine jogged up it.
