Bogor - many thanks. Paddy is right. I am a colonial from the other end of the Empire. (ie Canada). I am more than willing to play if you need me, but there would appear to be a plethora (fabulous word) of capable and willing players from down under.
Have great fun with the game.
Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war .... aw, forget that nonsense. Beer, please.

SGL's on, cultural conversions on. Game limit 135 turns.
Quickciv.biq loaded.
I have no idea if any of you have played QC before but if you haven't you should check out how it works. Note that a settler takes 3 pop off a city.
Where do I find out how quickciv works? And why are we playing this version, with a limit of only 135 turns?

Hmmm, we're playing quickciv because I suggested it in the original post & nobody objected or suggested any other type of game.
If you load up quickciv it will give you a description of how it works on the scenario information blurb. Also once the game is launched you can check the civolopedia for details.
Quickciv is basically AP civ on steroids. All units & buildings & wonders are like half price, workers work super fast, there is no despotic food penalty, techs are cheaper & there are only 135 turns because thats all it takes to get through to future techs, & settlers cost 3 pop points.
It works very well in pbem as your civ develops very quickly, what you have to watch out for is quick redundancy of units, upgrading is very important & also it's easy to earn money, as improvements are done so fast & your cities grow so fast.
I suggest you all try a couple of games SP, but note that the AI isn't really geared up for quickciv & is thus very easy to beat. Note that Agr becomes an average civ trait due to the removal of the despotic food penalty. So if you all would like to restart & pick different civs thats cool, or you could just use it as a learning experience.
Quickciv really is an excellent well balanced, fun scenario well worth learning. & Korea rocks in Quick civ!
