If you are having trouble keeping them straight, I suggest different folders for each game, and saving under a drastically different name than you receive. (Or even saving into a different folder than you load from.) I for example have 'subfolder' PBEM in Save folder, and then like twenty folders inside it for each game.... each of which i have one naming system which is whatever is sent to me (generally "PlayerBeforeMe - 1800bc.sav" or "snoopy-1800bc.sav") and then my own for saving under ("gamename 1800bc.sav") which means that the alpha of Windows is automatically going to separate out the right save for me to use.
You could also try name: "0716-savename.sav" if you want. That accomplishes the same thing you are trying to do without messing up Aqua's loading ...
Just a suggestion. No doubt you've thought up better ...
