I'm just plain tired of this blaise attitude towards making sure a game gets played in a reasonable amount of time.

If you can't play a game on a regular basis don't play at all.

BTW, this is not just directed at Donegeal; it's at all those who do the same.

Yes, this is a rant of sorts and I'm not sorry for it.

Don't worry BF, you are right, mostly. It was inconsiderate of me. That was why I did not offer up an excuse (or at least one that could even remotely be considered ligitimate). All I did was say I'm sorry, and I am. I will try not to be so inconsiderate again. Sorry.

On another note, you really shouldn't consider your set of "priorities" to be universial to everyone else. Just because you feel a certian way doesn't mean that everyone else has to as well. Its called freedom.
The only thing I consider to be "universal" about PBEM's is that they should be played within a reasonable amount of time. "Reasonable" to me is with 24 hours of receiving it. "Receiving it" is actually having seen it in you in-box or activating your email retreiving system to get it. Once a person has the save under the control they should make an effort to play it within 24 hours or post a note as to why that won't happen. I see no reason that cannot be accomplished by every PBEM player. If I see that a person is not active on Apolyton I would assume that they are not checking their email as well. But, if they are active here, then one could assume that they would/could check their email and therefore have a certain of responsibility to the other players to play it within a reasonable amount of time.

PBEM's are not my life. Seriously, they are not. I hope they are not for anyone. I do however assign a cetain amount of personal responsibility to playing the turns when I get them. Call it a priority for me of sorts if you want; it's really just about trying to keep the game going and therefore more interesting. A game that averages one turn a day is much more interesting to me (and to most others) than is one that averages one turn a month.

      To BF.

Ah what the hey - I'll wade into into. Because I agree with both of you.

      As BF stated:

A game that averages one turn a day is much more interesting to me (and to most others) than is one that averages one turn a month.
      This I wholeheartedly agree with.

Yet on the other hand - I have been the culprit at times as I simply missed a save coming in - yes - I see it - and mean to play it - or I save it to the game save folder - again meaning to play it - or play it and save it and mean to send it - and something comes up here at home or elsewhere on Poly and I forget to do what I meant to do. (man - did I write that??) Life and stuff happens.

I guess what I am saying is:

Donegeal (and everyone else).... wake up and play your turns in a timely fashion.

And if you don't, no problem, I understand. Just don't make it a habit.

      Game on.
Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war .... aw, forget that nonsense. Beer, please.
