I'm guessing that the patch will be out in 2 weeks or so. It has just about gotten rid of OOS errors totally and reduced lag a whole lot.
This is a very brave assumption... I wouldn't get the hopes up too much.And under DirectX9 most router issues are handled automagicallyComment

direct X 9 does even a better job then 8 or 8.1 , .....so get it , ......
it makes your comp faster , if it makes the comp faster it makes your civ games faster , .....

I was specifically referring to the claim that DirectX9 will resolve most firewall issues. It might resolve some problems that were due to the incompetence of the user, if the router/firewall is compatible with DirectX. Mine is not, although mine is not a typical one. Also many problems are of architectural nature (e.g. the user doesn't have the privilege to configure the router/firewall) and there DirectX will be always helpless.Originally posted by panag
