I'd like to know if anyone would be interested in participating in a multiplayer tournament now that MP is available. I realize that it may be better to wait for another patch to start something like this, but 1 on 1 games tend to go rather well with minimum lag.
There could be anywhere from 8 to 16 people, participating in 1 on 1 rounds in a ladder-style tournament. The match-ups will be determined by order of entry, or we could even go so far as to place people based on geographic location (it might be cool to have an East US vs. West US tournament, or even NA vs. Europe once they get PTW ). Plus, this would reduce the lag as much as possible.
There are also several options when it comes to fairness. Someone could generate a random map for each round, send it to the participants, and they could then load the game and play that way. The difficulty level would increase every round - it would start off at Regent, and end at Emperor or Diety. The games would be preferrably quick and short - either normal on a Tiny map, or Elimination on a larger map. All the games for one round would take place in a day; at the end, the winners (and scores) would be recorded and the matches will be set for the next day.
Please reply if you're interested in doing something like this, or if you have any suggestions.
