In addition, I shall post here in case email addy is incorrect

      Looking forward

one quick question though, can I disband 3-4 of these cities Aqualung built since several are overlapping and may impede my future success?

You do not need any additional files to play this game. It is a near stock civ game with a few balancing tweaks. To understand the tweaks you need to read the standard Iron Civer II thread (here) and in particular the 2nd post. These are also repeated in the first post of this very thread.

Please note the laws in the 4th post - especially concerning the 48 hr play clock.

I have now sent you the save.
Rommel, please can you forward Gramps the password.

Hopefully we're away again soon chaps!
        Folks

for real, I am just an old geezer hippie with a busy life and a desire to play civ to relax

THAT being said..should i violate anyone of what appears to be 289,546 rules..please in accordance with section 7.6.4.5a subparagraph part c22.3 please flog, whip, kick, sneeze on,vomit on,puke on,throw elephant dung/extrement on, and other wise cause humiliation in such a manner that cause guilty party to flop around uncontrollably on ground and write worthless checks

Because I usually work 12-16 hours a day come home and play a few turns to relax and in no way intentionally try to cheat or misconceive anyone

I would say, my reputation as a solid turn player includes but not limited to holding down last place in the the coming of Paddy,Beta,Aqualung,Platypus Rex,McMeadows & even my old pal Snoopy in such a manner that I didnt even realize exploits existed in the game

So if I "accidently" dont post an exact battle report dont jumo me as I need to learn all these rules

lol..and there are a BUNCH OF 'EM

        Thats being said..

        Have fun all

            • Mate, battle reports are only needed because Civ3 multiplay was badly designed. In single play you can see the battles and what units attacked you. In multiplay you can't - therefore strategising gets impaired. The Iron Civer rules allow for differing levels of reporting at the bottom of this post.

I don't think as a team we've agreed on the combat reporting level, but I would suggest level 2 is good enough, since this is a friendly game more than anything. (What does everyone think about that?)

Oh, and don't worry about all the rules. They key ones are no tech alliances without embassies, and no exchanging map information without map making. The rules are there to serve as a framework by which we can base our multiplay knowing what is acceptable and what is not. Rommel put a lot of work into this and should be commended for his efforts.

So how is it you work 12-16 hour days? If I did that I'd be too exhausted to play civ.

just a lot to keep up with is all

I guess I could make up some number since afterall..whos watching?

                • I have no objection to you abandoning some cities for better placement.

Battle reports don't have to be a major affair so don't worry too much about it.

Great post GT. I wouldn't get too hung up on the rules, as Andy has indicated. The battle report stuff from the demogame is what we are looking for - I think. I myself have to go check what level 2 is.

Andy - by "tech alliance" I presume you do not mean tech trading what you have - but arranging future trades. Is that it?
Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war .... aw, forget that nonsense. Beer, please.

I dont have 3-4 cities to abandon

& I promise to do the very best battle reports

I am just not so good at them

                      ask snoopy

                      lol

                      we already addressed this issue
                      many moons ago

Game will be fun I promise

and I shall be forth right

except the part of me having to disband them cities I am actually an honest and forthright player

                        • These games were organized according to the original players' preferences and this is a Combat Report Level 2 game. As per the first post:

A player making any attack must indicate to the defender that it has taken place and provide a brief summary of units involved, along with damage taken.
As Andy mentioned, the only part of the warrior code that you should have to worry about GT is no trading of map info before Map Making, and no discussion of tech research without an embassy (there is no limit on trading techs, you just can't discuss what hasn't been completely discovered yet).

As for the rules of the Tournament, play your turn within 36 hours of it being sent to you. If you know you'll be gone longer, post in the thread and let us know in advance and I'll tell you your options. If you don't play and don't warn anyone, I'll probably play it for you. Also, please post here every time the turn is sent so the rest of us know where the save is.

The main thing about the settings (again, all summerized in the first post)- this round is timed. As it stands, it will be decided by score a month from now. (I'm considering pushing the date back a month...) It's also an elimination game- once your second city is lost, your entire civilization will be destroyed. I'm pretty sure the game won't allow you to abandon cities because of this.

BTW, don't spend to much time conversing with con or your abilty to comprehend game rules will be greatly impaired...
Enjoy Slurm - it's highly addictive!

I am glad to see that someday it is possible to get used to the work schedule. My workday is normally 11-13 hours a day. And I do ok with that. When it gets to the 15-18 hours a day like it was for over half of September I start to fall behind on things (of course part of that is my wife has a list to get through prior to my playing Civ).
