I think we are set. Sent a message to Moonbars to start the game. Added a link to the tracker thread in the first post.

The blue sky and the red land shall meet. And it will be good.

Chairman Beta Xi Jiang bows to Modo44.

It is a good thing that you have done here, Modo.
Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war .... aw, forget that nonsense. Beer, please.

I will attempt to start this afternoon - I will need a lot of time on that first tick, and I have to goto work this morning

Yes, the first will be a very long turn. Take your time.

Added last-minute changes to the scenario. It had Diplomatic Victory turned on for no apparent reason.

Please remember to turn off Victory Point Scoring. This makes the Warsaw Pact win after like 5 turns.

good. that's what I went with! I am about halfway through my first turn..

I expect I will have problems playing saves "on the fly" before I goto work, so the only time-slot when I will be able to play and send saves is going to be 6pm-2am GMT

The playing times will be long, that is why I did not wait for 8 players to join. With 5 players, I think we should be ok.

Play when you can and want - this is only a game.

I like the rhetoric heating up already!!!!

I've built a bunker in Tokyo in case we get nuked again (1945) -- I can always run to Australia.

We are "role playing" and "staying in character" for the nations and leaders of the time, as Beta suggested. That doesn't mean we are forced to follow the general policies and alliances of era, does it?

For example, Japan wasn't allowed to field offensive military units for quite awhile after WW2. If I am "staying within character", then none of the cities in Japan can build military units.

A related question, some of the nations in this scenario have traditional animosity against each other (India vs Pakistan & Arab League vs Persia to cite two examples) Are we looking to maintain these postures/polcicies similiar to history?

I just thought it would be a good idea to discuss these things before we get going in this game. Great idea to start this scenario Modo.
