  • PBEM Mod: Chat, anyone?

I'd like to schedule a chat for discussing the PBEM mod in an irc setting (or similar). Those of you that are actively interested (especially the current and potential future voting members/organizers), when would be a good time, and via what medium?

    Please post:
    • Available times: When you COULD do it, at least an hour or so.
    • Preferred times: When you'd rather do it.
    • Available methods: what kind of programs (IRC, MSN, Yahoo! Messenger, AIM, ICQ) you have or are willing to sign up for/download
    • Preferred method(s): What you prefer using.

I'm going to suggest IRC and a USA evening next week or a weekend USA afternoon for the time, but I'm open to anything- I have a membership (not active in most) in any of the above methods, plus of course mIRC; and I'm free after 6pm Central Time every evening plus either weekend day, so I'm probably the most flexible.

I'd like to have around an hour chat where we discuss some of the ideas on the table and flesh out how significant we want this mod to be, what sort of changes we want to go into more depth on, and perhaps get close to having a starting mod with a couple of basic changes.

    Any takers?

I'm nearly always in the #MZO channel of the Apolyton mIRC server. My activity is sporadic, but if you enter I'll probably notice within 15 minutes, assuming my name doesn't indicate I'm not there.

I'll give it a try if I'm around and mIRC is good enough...

The more I think about it though- IRCing about PBEM- isn't that kind of like dancing about architecture?

Hard to give concrete answers, but, generally speaking, I'm around in the morning before 11am EST always, as well as after 10pm EST. Today, however, I will probably be around all day, though I may take a while to respond as I may not actually be at the computer/checking the chatroom. If I'm not there my name will indicate such.

              LOL.

I personally find it very difficult to make decisions about a mod in a chatroom. I need to need to think about things for a while when I hear a new proposal.

A chat also excludes people who might be interested to follow the discussion. Better to treat the suggestions thread as a chatroom, IMO.

But if the panel just wanted to be able to quickly (and even privately) discuss more internal matters a chat could be useful. Oh, and if it hasn't been done yet, I nominate/vote for alexman joining the panel.

I will try to be there. Evenings - EST time are best for me.

And I need to refresh my memory on the various proposals.

I mostly intend the chat as a way to jump-start the mod, to flesh out some basic ideas ... not a regular occurrence unless we need to work out things.

I'm usually available late evenings, but have no guaranteed dates. I'm off to a concert real soon...

Just a shot in the dark, but the band I'm seeing reminds me of a 90's 'alternative rock' group called My Bloody Valentine. I'm pretty sure they were from Chi-town. Ever hear of them?
