Multiplayer game between "play the world" and "conquests"?

Sorry if this has come up before, but i searched the forums in vain for some time...

I have Civ3 and conquests, my friend has civ3 and play the world, can we have a compatible internet game?

After all, my conquests says it includes PtW, so is it backward compatible?

We tried, but he couldn't see any servers at all, PtW or Conquests, but his connection was acting up at the time so who can tell. Our versions are both up to date.

PTW is part of Conquests due to the shared art files. There should be a PTW folder in your start/Programs/Atari menu. You may only play each other when you are both using the PTW program, as the PTW and C3C game lobbys are seperate.
