  • A call to PBEM regulars - visit the AU forum and participate in AU504!!!

    Dear Fellow PBEM'ers

The Civ3 AU forum is a school of strategy where students sharpen their Civ3 skills and share their experiences in a series of thematic games.

As we know, the PBEM format for Civ3 has gained a remarkable following over the last 6 months or so. Many AU regulars have infiltrated the PBEM crowd over recent months, to such an extent that the last formal AU course, AU601, was dedicated to a PBEM format and you have seen PBEM threads appear with strange "AU601" notations.

I would like to inform you all that the latest AU game, in SP format, has just been released. I strongly encourage you all to visit the AU forums, download the current game AU504 and get playing! We are a very friendly and sharing/caring crowd, and have several threads of DAR's ("During Action Reports") where we all record our experiences to allow us to share strategies with the common goal of improving our game against the dreaded AI.

If you are concerned about your level of play....don't be! All levels from Warlord to the seriously crazy Sid players are available. Players are encouraged to post their experiences and comment on other people's games.

This is not a competition! This is fun and learning. There are no comparisions, there are no criticisms. There is just advice and tips and good natured back-slapping!

So improve your Civ3 experience, and keep working on your game. Go visit the AU History 101 thread.

Then make your way over to the AU504 The Glory of Culture - Download Thread and get started.

So join in the fun!!! Join AU!!!
So if you meet me have some courtesy, have some sympathy and some taste
Use all your well-learned politesse, or I'll lay your soul to waste

Gotta say... this is a GREAT game!!! I got sucked in fer every free minute I've had (yes yes yes, to the delay of playing some of my turns in PBEMs), and cruised to 1500AD without even posting any of my DARs.

      Play it... you'll like it!
The greatest delight for man is to inflict defeat on his enemies, to drive them before him, to see those dear to them with their faces bathed in tears, to bestride their horses, to crush in his arms their daughters and wives.

Duas uncias in puncta mortalis est.
