  • Paddy a Deity!!!!

So - when did this happen???

And it does raise a question.

How did Paddy the Scot reach this exalted status???

    Was it due to:

    1. Him having reached an exalted plane of existence through er, um, spirits?

    2. His contribution to various aspects of Apolyton?

    3. His astronomical number of pbem's combined with a conmcb-like ability to spam a thread? Hint - vote here.

    4. His winning the Great Banana lottery and being granted this status as a gift by Markos?

What say ye? Any and all comments are welcome.

Geez, this is a bit late. It was AGES ago, most of a month.

Although I'd vote for 3, I have to give credit for keeping the Viking DG alive when there were so few of us able to help out. Thus I voted for Paddy as one of my picks in the latest Apolyton Hall of Fame.

    HEY you guys! Vote now!

Back to the ROOTS of addiction. My first missed poll!

You obviously need to watch your post stats go up more often

          True.

I gotta be honest - I never pay attention to it. conmcb keeps telling me he is going to pass me - in fact he may have already.

                #3 combined with the C3DG.

But you have to admit. With 4,000 PBEMs like Paddy has, your post count ought to rise quickly with these tracker threads.

                  Ive voted for No 2

I came to the PBEM world via Paddy, he first showed me the ropes and introduced me to other players. I also know he has done this with other players and is still doing so know, with another new to PBEM just joining a game which someone else left a while back.

MWIA can speak for Paddy regarding the civ3 demo game better than I can other than to my mind he put in a vast amount of work to run that game.

I did not come to know Paddy through PBEM, I first met him through his posts in the civ3 stories section where he posted encouragement for my and others stories then became one of the club and wrote several of his own.

We have become good friends this year and to my mind he is one of the best things about Apolyton.

Becoming a deity so fast may be in part down to Spam, who knows for sure, but I believe well over 95 % of his posts are ON TOPIC and mostly attributed to his absolute passion for playing Civ3 and for this community!!

Lets just be glad to have such good people amongst us

But of course spam is named such not because of its proliferation, but because of its low quality. IMO, nothing Paddy posted has been low quality. It's always been top grade humour!

So go vote for those who contribute(d) to your enjoyment of Poly - and include Paddy!

                      Chrisius, you have me convinced.

And MWIA - I agree on the spam thing. When I put it in the poll, it was not meant in a negative way - more tongue-in-cheek.

And this thread has become an excellent venue for spam.

Hence the reason, I have shuffled in nd urinated so I can mark my spot.

Paddy is a Civ-Spam aholic, thats how he got to Diety. A nice little competition between himself and Rasputin helped a bit as well I do dare say

Of course it's option #3! I even placed a vote for Paddy in the Hall of Fame because he has tuned this tactic into a religion!!!

It is the great banana of course. All you heathins should pray that the divine banana doesn't send the holy Markos to punish you for your transgresions.

Oh, and remember, if paddy sends out one of his joke emails, never, ever, accidently hit reply all, as I think I got half of poly in my work email address book now. Jeez.
