What a day, it took about 2 hours to do this one. Nap time must be enforced!

                      for everybody's information:

i intended to play a peaceful game, but as you know, the impending threat from the incans (aqua admitted that he would have attacked when he was ready) made me change the strategy.

after that, i was willing to stay peaceful under two conditions:
                      a) maya don't get saltpeter
                      b) peace on the other continent and everybody at the same research level.

point b) happened, which meant for me that i'd to to reseach against 5 players instead of just 3.
the mayan may not have gotten saltpeter, but with a view into the capital (18 units, of which 6 were explorers =pillagers) and nationalism around the corner, i decided to strike.

8 cities were taken thanks to huge worker crews building railroads right after the cavalry. but mainly thanks to the fact that no city was defended with more than 3 units. most had only 1 defender, one even didn't have a single unit. after seeing the mighty force in chichén itza, this was really surprising!

anyway, i can imagine 1889 is a bit píssed off, probably more that aqualung was, because this time there was no immediate threat, just the long term one.

i have no intention of entering the other continent, as long as there is not luxury trade embargo against myself.

Ah, so the original intention is wavering

Oh, but the peaceful builder we all know invaded anyway

i never said that i would not attack! so i havn't broken any word!

i also didn't increase my military size (except my armies of workers) since the aqualungian war as i had promised. i expected 20 cavalry to take 2-3 cities, not 8 of them

The twin towers of Amsterdam and Ur have reached out with their black hand and placed the clammy touch of death on the peaceful Mayan people. Emperor Sabrewolf would have you believe this was inevitable, that it was self-defense, that he simply could not share his continent with another people who were at one time his ally.

These lies are best exposed by just a few of the people that have survived his brutal genocide.

Bobby Hodgkins of Tikal had his Peace Studies class disrupted by gunfire. He went with the rest of his class into the streets to see what all the commotion was. He was excited to see the Soldiers in their resplendent uniforms riding on their magnificent horses. “I thought the Sumerians had finally come to make friends. We try so hard to be good neighbors.” Miss Jenkins, his 4th grade teacher, told him it was an invasion. It was at that moment one of the soldiers pointed sharply at Bobby and yelled “Four eyes!” “They are bad men,” cried little Bobby.

Mrs. MacGrady, 92 year old life long resident of Palenque, was walking back from the store with a bag of cat food for her Mr. Snuggles at the same moment that Sumerian cavalry burst into town. As they rode trough town one of them reached down and snatched the bag out of her feeble grasp and spilled its contents into the street. The other soldiers crushed many of the cans. “What sort of a way is that for a young man to act?” croaked the old woman. Mr. Snuggles is still missing.

These are the real faces of war.

Combat report: Two knight defeated a veteran cavalry unit in the ruins of Palenque. Just like the battle of Stalingrad, the air of invincibility is broken and the tide of war turns.
