errrr,.. either you didn't, or it didn't reach my mailbox. A "sent to" message might have been helpfull. I was assuming you were too busy to play.

Sorry, but in the last month or so the probability, that Apolyton is up when I get home, is about 10%. Since I don't play Civ3 anymore (except the few remaining PBEMs), I have little desire to open a Civ related site later on, only to retry to post a "turn sent" message.

the thing is I would have noticed you sooner if you hadn't posted at all. In which case I would have been assuming something was wrong. Now you gave an excuse for being late and not having sent the save. No worries, just play and send and we'll be on the highway again...don't worry about things you have no influence on...

i've only very seldom got no response at all - hardly ever, in fact. and a few times it lags a bit.
may IE can't deal with it because of some longer timeouts?
but anyway, imho poly is available >98% of the times i request a page. and i'm doing that around the clock- Artificial Intelligence usually beats real stupidity

If you say, that Apolyton works for you, it must be my system, what blocks. I have set up a very restrictive firewall on my gateway computer, which blocks everything, what is not explicitly allowed. So for outbound HTTP traffic I allow port 80 (normal http) and 443 (secure http), and nothing else. Since I don't have Plus (and don't intend to purchase it), the showthread script invokes several banner ads, which connect to their providers to bring in the SPAM. It'd be enough, if one of them uses a port different of the allowed (some use 81, some 8080, some 8888 or even more obscure) for the request to time out. This may last longer than the browser allows, before he gives the "site unavailable" popup.
I don't think this is a problem. I have for weeks sent my turns and they always arrived in time. Now one got lost, oh well, things happen. It's safer to notice me by email, though. Often I don't visit Apolyton for days, for the reasons mentioned.

allrighty,... You've been a dedicated player without doubt. This little misunderstanding shouldn't get out of proportions. We all agree the forum is used to avoid misunderstandings and sofar it's been fine. If I get impatient next time. I'll spam you with e-mails..don't worry about things you have no influence on...
