  • dead forum?

pity, it looks as if this forum is dead!

hardly any posts in the last 2 months, the 2nd and 3rd tournaments not getting on at all...

    where has everybody gone to?

and if this forum isn't used anymore, why not just scrap it?

Very true. However, it's an unfortunate fact that most of the interest in the MP games was completely sucked dry. Hell, half the players disappeared without a trace.

Besides, Apolyton seems to definately be more of an SP and PBEM site for Civ3 play. I'm fine with that, since I mostly play PBEM anyhow, but the occassional MP game can be quite fun.

This all said, there are some informative threads burried in this forum that I have linked to other places on the site. If Markos was planning to ditch this forum, I'd want to at least preserve some of those highly informative threads first.

of course, the threads would have to be archived!

i was quite fond of this forum, and i love reading AARs, which happen faster at this level. that's why i joined in the 4th tournament. unfortunatly, of the few players around, many had problems getting the game started... at least we finished (well, kind of ) it...

i think it's quite weak of the other tournament players to withdraw without saying anything. applying for something is a should be a commitment. it should be something like "i wager 500 poly post-points" and if i play at least 75% of my games or prove why i can't, i get back the points... +50%"

Not only that, but most anyone who's an avid MP junkie tends to hang out over at our neck of the woods... 700-800 of us in total at the moment, a drop in the bucket, but there all the same.

You guys are definitely absolutely welcome to come join us for the occasional MP game if you want to dabble.

i find there are too many different ways of playing civ3 MP , and usualy when i get intop one i find that it is simul turns or turnless, i hated them and opnly like turn based.. not many like that so i cant get a game...
