i have a LAN game of c3c with about 7 other ppl tomorrow, in order to keep the game relatively short the others have opted for SM. How does SM actually work? it sounds like a recipe fo chaos and disaster. any important strategic changes from playing SP or TB MP? Do you have to be as fast as you possibly can in SM?

SM = most excellent
As U have no doubt discovered by now. Simu moves = ALOT better because one actually has MORE time to do civ mgt stuff while others are doing their maovement phase.
It all works well, until, as U probably found out... combat happens. Then it's a bit hairy, but exciting IMHO.
Hope U enjoyed it."Fe-e-e-l the Force all around You". Master Yoda

turnbased is best as it gives you all the time in the world to make your move sand do city stuff...
I cant stand simul moves as he who moves first wins, on a LAN it may be ok, but on internet with lag it sucks...GM of MAFIA #40 ,#41, #43, #45,#47,#49-#51,#53-#58,#61,#68,#70, #71

"Poll: Format for MP" - a thread where the simulplay and turn-based formats were debated on their merits and detriments.
"Timer Use in Simulplay" - a thread where I asked about the multiple-move exploit in simulplay
That should suffice.
I'm sure Fried-Psitalon or MotownDennis will show up soon enough to explain why they like simulplay better. As for me, I go with turn-based over simulplay.Long-time poster on Apolyton and WePlayCiv
